A blues scale is a six note scale. The scale is that it is very easy to learn, especially if you already know the pentatonic scale. The "Blue" note as it is called, is used to create a heavier dissonance while playing over a blues chord progression.
Major Degrees: 1-b3-4-b5-5-b7 or I-bIII-IV-bV-V-bVII
